Product specification

Data collection is one of the most crucial parts of modern monitoring systems. Experts and structural engineers need a robust and user-friendly software solution for executing their tasks – to focus on the evaluation of the measured object (structure) and not to be bothered with the unnecessary theory and working principles of fiber optics or fiber bragg gratings. We developed our new data acquisition software, Sentinel 2.0, keeping all these requirements in mind.

Sentinel 2.0 –  Enhanced and easy-to-use data acquisition software developed for S-line Scan interrogators.

Sentinel 2.0 –  Provides tools for analysis, collection, storage, management and transfer of FBG based sensing data.

Sentinel 2.0 –  Offers communication with external control systems via integrated API.

Sentinel 2.0 –  Is supplied free of charge with each S-line Scan interrogator.

ADVANCED FEATURES

Sampling rate – the Sentinel D software features next to the continuous data acquisition also a software trigger which will ensure that the acquisition will happen only if a certain condition is fulfilled. This solution saves a lot of data compared to the continuous mode and leaves only the relevant data for the consequential analysis.

Sensors – the Sentinel D software can be set up to either log down the wavelengths, physical data like temperature or strain, or both at the same time. The settings are free for the end user to modify and set according to tot their needs.

Data visualization – the software is capable of visualizing Dynamic data acquired from the sensors and thus allowing the user to see the events in „real“ time. The speed of visualization is restricted and the software decides according to the settings what would be the maximum speed of data refresh without jeopardizing the data acquisition.

SENTINEL API

The API server requires to be started within the Sentinel application and use/read the settings/values from the software environment and send to the API server as JSON. This means that you need to set-up the sensor chain within the Sentinel software in order to read the required data.
