Trunk cables and fanouts dedicated to patching inside patch panels typically have fanouts with fibers protected by 900um transparent bifurcation tubes. When patching individual connectors the installer has to pay attention to the colour of the bare fiber in a transparent tube, which might be difficult if the installer is working in poorly lit conditions or has limited access to the patching area. Also, individual fibers are typically marked by so called marking sleeves, which clearly identify fiber number, but the sleeve is typically marked only on one side and the customer has to rotate it in order to identify the number.

Sylex brings a solution with visible and clear fiber markings by connectors’ boots, which are available in 12 standard colours for all standard single-fiber 900um connectors like LC, SC, FC and ST. As the connector boot’s colour matches the fiber colour the installer will have no doubt when patching inside panels, can avoid possible mistakes by mixing colours (for instance fibers in white and grey) and the installation will be much quicker.
